My Review - Chasing The Dream - By Isabelle Peterson

*Warning: I have already read the books I am covering, any and all posts may and do contain spoilers.

Phoebe – Chase – New York City.
Chasing the Dream is a beautiful coming of age novel about a young girl finding her way in the world and moving on from a douche bag (something we all inevitably find ourselves doing at one point in our lives) and following her mothers advice to stand on her own two feet and find herself. The pages are filled with discovery, change, new experiences and of course steamy sex with a teen-sensation all grown up. A story to rave about and a must-read!

I always enjoy series that move on to new characters. It gives you a fresh new story with still getting small tid-bits of info about the existing characters you love. I think the Dream series is the first series like this I have read that features the mother and then her daughter. We see Phoebe learn about her mother and Jack in a way that no daughter wants to see her mother. We see Elizabeth and Jack through the eyes of someone who normally would not want to witness her mother with any one except her father. But the love between the two is so vibrant and intense that even Phoebe visibly understands the change in her mother and cannot deny she is viewing a true love to admire that she never saw between her parents.

My Review- Not in my Wildest Dreams - By Isabelle Peterson

*Warning: I have already read the books I am covering, any and all posts may and do contain spoilers.

Sex clubs, flogging, whipping, restraints, and ball gags… Do I have your attention? Yah, I thought so. You get this and so much more in Not in my Wildest Dreams. Besides just the kinky sex you get a deeper look into our beloved Jack: the young and dumb boy with a dream, the model, the friend, the student, the Dom, the Sub, and the business man. Izzy delivers another steamy read for book 2.

In Not in my Wildest we see Jack take off for New York on his journey to success. He picks up without a second thought (much like Elizabeth did), and leaves behind everything he knows, even though his family doesn't approve. We get to find out more about him and “B” (Becca), how he finds BDSM and the relationship he and Becca have with this sexual culture. We see what makes the sexual sides of Jack tick.

Interview with Isabelle Peterson

I have been reading and reviewing the Dream Series by Isabelle Peterson lately and through this I have connected with her. She kindly agreed to do an interview with me and I'd like to share it with all of you!!! Get to know Isabelle a little better and enjoy!

•      The name Isabelle Peterson is a pen name, where does it come from?

o    My name in high-school French Class was “Isabelle”…  I always loved that name because there are fun nicknames. Like “Izzy” “Iz” and “Bella”. My real name doesn’t really have a nickname. Peterson… I literally just closed my eyes, opened the phonebook, and pointed. When I searched the name Isabelle Peterson, I didn’t see any other Isabelle Peterson authors, and no other famous Isabelle’s to get confused with. Done.

Can you explain the reasons behind your anonymity and pen name to your readers and is there one thing about this topic you want your fans to really understand?

o    I am the mother of teen-agers in high school. I don’t really want some “idiot” boy thinking “Hey, her mom writes naughty books. She’s probably into that stuff, too.”  I truly believe my daughter can ‘fend off’ one of these idiots, but she shouldn’t have to. Being a teen is hard enough. My job is to protect her, not give her extra issues to deal with.

Do you have a core group of close friends who know who Isabelle Peterson really is or is your anonymity for every one outside your household?

o    There are a small, well trusted handful of locals who know about Isabelle. They kind of enjoy being “in” on the secret. They’ve always been super supportive.

Have you had any weird or scary moments when someone was trying to figure out who you really were?

My Review - Ditching The Dream - By Isabelle Peterson

*Warning: I have already read the books I am covering, any and all posts may and do contain spoilers.

*Video not made by me. Made by a fellow fan :)

Time for some honesty people, I found this book through many recommendations on social media and then even had some contact with the author pre-read. Because of that, I am not surprised Ditching The Dream was a good read, but I am a little surprised it was a good book for me. I was slightly hesitant to pull the trigger and start reading because I felt like I wouldn't be able to connect with the characters. I am not married, have no kids and am much younger than Elizabeth. The characters are much older than I am and much older than the characters I normally read. Well, I was wrong and I loved it. It was easy to relate to Elizabeth despite the age difference and the read was sexy (kind of an understatement) and kept me wanting more.

Boy, when Elizabeth does something, she really goes all in. She takes off to a new city, and not just any city, but New York, and dives in deep with two men. It was a refreshing plot change from the norm. She was still the bright eyed inexperienced female lead, but she isn't the normal "Sandra D (Yes, that's a Grease reference), woman should act a certain way" good girl mumbo jumbo. She explores who she is, who she wants to be, and what she wants sexually.

42 years and never had an orgasm at the hands of a man?! 42 YEARS!! Blasphemy!! So very wrong, seriously it makes me want to cry for Elizabeth. Shame on Greg!!

About the Author I'm Currently Reading - Isabelle Peterson

About the Author:

Straight from the mouth of Isabelle Peterson:

I'm the wife of a most fabulous man for twenty years.
I'm a mother of 2 busy teens.
I'm a dog lover.
I'm a serious drinker of coffee and wine.
I live near New York City.
My favorite place that I've visited is Monaco.
My favorite color is green (but I look best in pink/salmon).
My favorite food is chocolate.
My favorite kind of music is New Country.

Ive always been a creative sort of person...
I started with my college studies in Advertising Design and Illustration.
I'm good at drawing and coming up with clever ideas.

As for story telling - well, that's where I have the most fun!
Ditching The Dream is my first novel,
but I've been working on writing movies since, what seems like forever.
Way back in high school my friend Aimee and I started writing a movie and I was hooked.
We didn't know what we were doing, but we loved coming up with the story.
I also like to come up with stories about people I don't know.
Like the guy that cut me off on the expressway...
He had quite a story - at least in my mind! Who knows?

Maybe I've come up with a story about you! ;)

Ditching The Dream is a story that came to me while I was helping two author friends of mine. I was helping them with their books and I would make suggestions to amp up their stories along the way. Bev and Amy encouraged me to write my own story and Ditching The Dream was born.  Is it auto-biographical? No, not in the least. But it sure has been a fun story to come up with (especially when my hubby gets involved with coming up with ideas).
