My Review- Not in my Wildest Dreams - By Isabelle Peterson

*Warning: I have already read the books I am covering, any and all posts may and do contain spoilers.

Sex clubs, flogging, whipping, restraints, and ball gags… Do I have your attention? Yah, I thought so. You get this and so much more in Not in my Wildest Dreams. Besides just the kinky sex you get a deeper look into our beloved Jack: the young and dumb boy with a dream, the model, the friend, the student, the Dom, the Sub, and the business man. Izzy delivers another steamy read for book 2.

In Not in my Wildest we see Jack take off for New York on his journey to success. He picks up without a second thought (much like Elizabeth did), and leaves behind everything he knows, even though his family doesn't approve. We get to find out more about him and “B” (Becca), how he finds BDSM and the relationship he and Becca have with this sexual culture. We see what makes the sexual sides of Jack tick.

My Review: Hold on by Hilary Wynne

*Warning: I have already read the books I am covering, any and all posts may and do contain spoilers.

Hilary Wynne has just taken me on a roller coaster ride.
I laughed, I swooned, I got angry, and I cried. I went back and forth between these emotions as well. Hold on,  (A seemingly appropriate title, even for the viewer, considering the ride I just told you I went on) book 2 in the Alexa Reed Series does it for me again. Wynne delivers an even steamier and sexier read.

Excerpt:

“I love feeling you like this; so hard, so deep.  I don’t want you to stop until you come, baby. You can finish like this.”

I lift my ass higher and hear him groan as he squeezes my hip.

I know what my words do to him. He loves when I encourage him to basically fuck me harder. He picks up his speed, but is careful not to come too soon. Tonight he wants it to last so he gets lost in his rhythm. I let him take what he needs from me.

I need to move a bit and when I raise up, Julian takes hold of my hair and grasps it firmly in his hand. It’s a little rough but not so much that I can’t handle it. He tugs it and I take the gesture as an indication he wants me to sit up. When I do, Julian put his hand on my stomach and pulls me to him. My back is to his front and he holds me tightly as he explodes into me. He calls my name and completely lets go as his own orgasm wracks his body.

Synopsis

There is only one thing in life that professional pastry Chef Pricilla Westcott values more than baking and wine, and that’s honesty. A quality she soon learns that her marriage lacks when her husband runs off with their next door neighbor.

Divorced and alone, Priscilla is determined to make changes in her life. She decides to approach her new goals like one of her beloved recipes. Surely with a little time, a dash of patience, and measured planning she can whip herself—and her life—back into shape.

However, when a new—and utterly delicious—neighbor takes up residence in the house that ruined her marriage, Priscilla worries that her careful world will fold faster than a deflated soufflĂ©.

Trent Walker knows what he wants and his sweet, sassy neighbor is at the top of the list. He’s certain that the chemistry between them would be explosive, but Priscilla fears that an affair with him, however hot, could be a recipe for disaster.

My Review: My Sweetest Escape (My favorite Mistake Book 2) by: Chelsea M. Cameron

*Warning: I have already read the books I am covering, any and all posts may and do contain spoilers.

Overall My Sweetest Escape is a good read but not something I would gush about over coffee convincing a friend to read.  A lot of books in this genre are self published and you can end up buying a nightmare of a book to get through. Escape was an easy read without constant publishing and editing errors. It was sweet. In my opinion a little too PG though, I like my books a little steamier; more sex scenes. Scenes that get you a little hot and bothered. This book just doesn’t do that. It’s a cutesy read about two people with secrets and self hate that fall for each other and bring one another out of a dark place.

Even though Escape is book 2, it can basically be read as a stand-alone. The characters from Mistake are heavily integrated in Escape so you still get glimpses into their lives since Jos has taken up residents in their newly acquired Yellowfield home. I did think it was odd the author had neatly paired off all the main co-characters in the first novel and then had two brand new characters for the second installment.  You didn’t get the chance to have someone to root for in part 2. Normally books that take on new characters in book 2 focus on the friend or roommate who was there for the ride in part 1. You had already been hoping for the happily ever after for that person by the time you sit down to read their story. Jos and Dusty are characters that were not in Mistake at all. I do think it would have been better to have some overlap between the two books. Like if Jos would have come for a visit one weekend in book 1 and been a total train wreck or if Hunter would have known Dusty before and we got a view into him and his relationship with all the Yellowfield House members.
