My Review - Simple Perfection - by Abbi Glines

Synopsis:
Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?

My Star Rating:

Review:

Woods and Della are back to conquer doubters, fear, and crazy bitches to find their simple perfection in each other. To think this love story started from a gas station, Mexican food, margaritas, and a steamy scene in Woods truck that had readers lusting for more! Woods and Della have grown and if possible so has their love.

Excerpt:
The woman who had walked into my life and changed everything. Della Sloane had become my addiction when I hadn’t been available. In all her twisted perfection she had made me fall helplessly in love with her. A life without her in it seemed pointless. I often wondered how people found joy in life without knowing her.

I think every girl wishes her “Woods” would say words so sweet about them. The love Woods has for Della consumes him.

I think I have said this before in my previous reviews of any of the Rosemary Beach books but I really think my love of this series stems from the friendships this bunch of character have. They fight for each other and even sometimes fight against each other, but with strong bonds like they have, it’s all water under the bridge. This group of men grew up together and fought together against the confines of their upbringings. Then with each love interest added for each man a strong friendship between the ladies forms to help during the hard times and wrong turns of navigating a new relationship. Della wishes she was more like Blaire, but what she doesn’t see is she has that strength she sees in Blaire and together they are a force to be reckon with to whip these Rosemary Beach boys into shape and fight of the crazies like Nan and Angelina.

Excerpt:
It didn’t feel like I thought it would, opening myself up like that to him. I had always thought that showing someone what was inside, what had been my life, would expose me in a way that would make me unlovable. But I didn’t feel that way in Woods’s arms. He held me tightly to him and kissed my head. No other words were needed.

In this above excerpt and in many other scenes in Simple Perfection Della gets painfully honest. It is through this vulnerability that she finds strength and the internal force to heal her self. She shares it all with Woods and it only aids in his belief in her perfection.

Woods:
“Then she came back into my life and saved me from hell. She changed my world. She taught me to love and she owns my soul.”

Powerful friendships, a girl finding her inner strength to become a healed woman, a sinfully irresistible book boyfriend who loves with everything he’s got, and a couple fighting for twisted perfection to become simple all set on the sandy white beaches of Florida is exactly what you’ll get with this Abbi Glines treasure. Another must read and one of my favorites I will never grow tired of re-reading.
