My Review - Never Too Far - by Abbi Glines

*Warning: I have already read the books I am covering, any and all posts may and do contain spoilers.

Never Too Far is another winner for me; I love the whole Rosemary Beach series so far. As I re-read I am falling in love with the story and it’s characters all over again. Rush is heart-poundingly wonderful as always and Blaire continues to grow and be as strong as ever.

Never Too Far picks up where Fallen Too Far left off and our beloved characters are a mess. Blaire is back in her hometown staying at Cain’s grandmother’s house and chapter one, paragraph one hits us with some big news.

I’m not a fan of the characters in the books I read getting pregnant; especially when it’s not after all the turmoil is over. It usually makes their story seemed rushed and takes away some of the romance too quickly for me. With this series it didn’t bother me. It didn’t happen until book 2 and Rush is crushed without Blaire and wants her back without knowing about the pregnancy. He fights to be with her before he is aware that she is carrying his child. The pregnancy also last through the whole book so Blaire and Rush have some time to repair what Rush’s family and Blaire’s Dad has broken.

Lets talk about some of the supporting characters for a minute. Grant still makes me smile and Woods is still kicking Rush into action in his own dick kind of ways. My hatred of Nan only intensifies and even in her weak moments it’s hard to feel sympathy for her, especially when during these struggles she is still affecting Rush and Blaire individually and also them together as a couple. She is selfish and only thinks of herself. You would think she would want Rush, the only person to care about her and protect her, to be happy. But, no. Abe is still a dick and as a father he should have been there for Blaire point blank, but you do get to see a more human side to him and he breaks through your heart just a crack. Now, Granny Q – I LOVE! She is southern, sassy, and straight to the point. Her love for Blaire is heartwarming, especially in the face of Blaire’s rejection of her grandson. She knows Cain blew it and she won’t hold that against Blaire. I was glad a character was introduced to be a surrogate family for Blaire since her mom and sister have passed. Love love love me some Granny Q!

I have stated my fondness of declarations of love before and this is one of my top 5. Rush’s passion and determination to show Blaire he loves her and she is his number 1 is inspiring. If there is any men reading this, take note. :) Rush is determined to not just tell Blaire she is safe, but show her; even if he does make some mistake. We are all only human and balancing a crazy family with a new life creates chaos.
